Gym Rules

By Visiting CityFit Brentford, You Are Agreeing To The Following Rules You must: Remain Aware of the most up-to-date guidance under the Train Safe Programme. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in a temporary or permanent ban from CityFit.

General Gym Rules:

  • Please ensure the door is fully closed after using the facial recognition entry system. Do not allow any other user to enter the premises using your facial recognition. We monitor the system by CCTV 24/7 to ensure the safety of our members. Misuse may result in us applying additional charges to your membership fee. Please refer to the terms and conditions of your membership for full details of the Gym Membership Abuse Policy.
  • All members are offered a free comprehensive induction to instruct you on using gym equipment. CityFit does not accept any liability for any personal injury claim made by any member using the gym equipment without undertaking an induction from a qualified member of staff.
  • Inductions can be booked by logging in to your account and going to Book a Class section or in person at the Gym.
  • If you are unsure about using any equipment, you must seek instruction from a qualified staff member before use.
  • Please bring and use sweat towels to wipe equipment down after use.
  • Bags are not permitted onto the gym floor. Please use the secure pigeonholes to store your belongings.
  • Appropriate attire must be worn while exercising. The following clothing is not permitted: Denim, business wear, football tops, boots, flip-flops, sandals, slip-on shoes. Any gym member not wearing suitable attire may be asked to leave the premises.
  • You may not use the gym while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, tranquilisers, or any medication or substance that may affect your ability to exercise safely. CityFit reserves the right to remove you from the premises if it has reasonable grounds to believe you are unfit and unsafe to use the facilities.
  • All weights must be returned to their storage place after use.
  • Do not misuse the weights or drop them on the floor.
  • Do not take photographs or videos unless with express permission.
  • Do not make any remarks online that may identify another person.
  • Aggressive, abusive, antisocial, or threatening behaviour towards any staff member or gym member will not be tolerated. CityFit may prosecute anyone guilty of threatening behaviour.
  • CityFit-licensed personal trainers must lead all training within the gym.
  • CityFit accepts no liability for any loss or damage to personal property. Members are fully responsible for their own belongings.
  • All lockers will be emptied each night. Any property not taken home will be moved into lost property. All items will be kept in lost property until claimed or for one week. After this period, they will be destroyed, donated to charity, or if items of value, passed to the local police station.
  • We provide separate-sex communal changing rooms for our members to ensure their safety, privacy and dignity. Our gym also has an individual-use, gender-neutral, inclusive changing room. Gender-specific changing rooms will be closed from 20:00 hours to 06:00 on weekdays and 16:00 hours to 8:00 on weekends, but the individual-use changing room will remain open during this time.
  • All members must inform CityFit Gym of any change of contact, including phone numbers and email addresses.
  • Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is strictly prohibited in all areas of the gym.
  • Members may not bring pets (except official aid dogs) into the gym.
  • Bikes and e-scooters are not allowed into the gym. They should be left outside the premises.
  • Your subscription remains active if your physical readiness questionnaire results in your needing to discuss your intention to exercise with your doctor. Please be aware that any fees already collected are non-refundable.
  • By accessing the gym and using the gym equipment, members are deemed to have read and understood the terms and conditions of membership.
  • Failure to comply with these rules may result in you being asked to leave the gym and permanently suspending your membership.
